The Series--This outdoor series runs from March through November, and events occur approximately once a month, although we are flexible about which weekend. We can book either Saturday or Sunday, with a preference for Saturday events. The fun starts with a shared feast starting between 6 and 7 pm, with the main performance running from 8-10 pm with a break in the middle. We have to quit at 10 to avoid disturbing the neighbors. There's usually a picking party afterwards inside the house. Your hosts will be available as early as 6 for setup and sound checks.
Your Hosts-Saylor White and Sheryl Hutchens have been into the music for a number of years. As you can see from Saylor's site, he's an accomplished singer/songwriter on his own. If you need accommodations while in town for the concert, Saylor and Sheryl also have an extra room available for you. Theirs is a smoking household, and they also have pets, so if you are particularly sensitive, let us know and we'll arrange for other accommodations. You can contact Saylor at saylor@saylorwhite.com.
The Ambience-The venue is at Saylor and Sheryl's home on the near-west side of Houston, Texas in a wooded neighborhood. Saylor has built a great stage and deck under a beautiful overhanging oak, with stage lighting and an excellent sound system.
The Audience-We usually draw between 25 and 30 folks, although the total depends on the strength of your own following and general circumstances. The deck can accommodate more than that, and with the expanse of lawn, the possibilities are extensive.
The Business Deal-Our base is to ask for a donation of $10 and $15. There is no guarantee, but you get 100% of the donations plus whatever you make on CD sales. Once you're confirmed with Joanne as to date, you can consider your email acceptance and ours as "contract," or, if you've got your own contracting system, you can send a contract to Saylor and Sheryl at:
